FAQ

What is ACP (Affordable Connectivity Program)?

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) program that replaces the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program (EBB Program) to help low-income households pay for internet service and connected devices.

If your household is eligible, you can receive:

  • Up to a $30/month discount on your internet service
  • Up to a $75/month discount if your household is on qualifying Tribal lands
  • A one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer (with a co-payment of more than $10 but less than $50)

Only one monthly service discount and one device discount is allowed per household. The internet company will provide the discount to the consumer.

Note: If you received a discounted internet connected device (laptop, tablet or desktop computer) through the program, you cannot receive a new discounted device, even if you change your provider.

Further, if you have changed your provider with-in last 30days, you will have to wait until 30days to complete before applying for a transfer.

You will continue to receive your ACP Benefit in the following three conditions.

1. FCC Continues to fund the ACP program.
ACP is an FCC funded program. If FCC announces to discontinue the ACP benefit, you will no longer be eligible for the discounted services.
In such a case, we will notify you and you can either discontinue your subscription with us or you can choose to continue to use our service by switching to an undiscounted subscription plan of your choice.

 2. You continue to qualify for the ACP Benefit.
You qualify for the ACP benefit either based on your income or based on participation in an approved government assistance program. If you no longer qualify either based on income or due to non-participation in the listed government assistance program or if a previously approved program is no longer covered in ACP, then you will not be eligible for the discounted service.

3. You continue to use the wireless service under the ACP. It is important that you use the service (either by texting or making a phone call or by browsing the internet using our wireless service) at least once in a month. If you do not use our service for more than 45 days, then we as the service provider are obligated to discontinue your ACP Benefit subscription and to either disconnect your account or switch you to a regular subscription plan.

Here are the ways your household can qualify for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP):
a) Based on your household income (income is 200% or less than the Federal Poverty Guidelines)
b) If you or your child or dependent participate in certain government assistance programs such as SNAP, Medicaid, WIC, or other programs as listed here.
c) If you or anyone in your household already receives a Lifeline benefit

You can still apply for ACP Benefit if you are not enrolled in Lifeline. Lifeline enrollment is not a mandatory requirement for APC benefit.

Lifeline is a Federal Communications Commission program to help make communications services more affordable for low-income consumers. If you currently receive a Lifeline benefit, you automatically qualify for the ACP, and you can receive both benefits at the same time – through different providers.

Note: You must enroll for ACP separately to receive the ACP benefit.
